SACRAMENTO – January 17, 2012 – Sleep Train today revealed that its sponsorship to keep the Sacramento Kings NBA team in Sacramento will focus on bringing greater awareness to the plight of the more than 60,000 foster children in the state. Using signage, concourse billboards, wallscapes, floor-level electronic signage in the Pavilion, and game-day donation opportunities, Sleep Train is maximizing this relationship to communicate the needs of foster children to the estimated 13,000 fans attending Sacramento Kings games.
Throughout the sponsorship, Sleep Train will collect donations of important material items from fans for its award-winning Foster Kids Program that benefits at-risk and foster youth in the area. The following ball games will feature donation bins at entry points where fans can donate new items for local foster children.

“Supporting the community is an integral part of the company culture of our employee-owners,” said Dale Carlsen, CEO of Sleep Train. “We’re thrilled to connect our interest in keeping live music, sports and entertainment in our region with helping area foster children.”
Sleep Train’s award-winning philanthropic program for foster kids has currently donated hundreds of thousands of important material items like clothes, shoes, school supplies, pajamas and gifts during the holidays, and more than $1.5 million in cash to foster organization partners statewide. “By offering another place for people to donate and having a new platform to talk about this important cause, we expect to see community support increase and our contributions substantially grow,” continued Carlsen.
